RUTGERS COLLEGE OF NURSING SELECTS CAREONE FOR CLINICAL TRAINING AND EDUCATION

Nursing Students to Learn from CareOne Nursing Leaders

(FT. LEE, NJ - September 14, 2012)  CareOne – A Senior Care Company will partner with the Rutgers College of Nursing to provide clinical training and education for 3rd year nursing students, CareOne announced today.  Rutgers University nursing students will rotate throughout CareOne's family of sub-acute rehabilitation, long-term care and assisted living centers in New Jersey for the upcoming semester.

The program will give nursing students valuable hands-on experience as they work in the clinical setting with CareOne nursing leaders.  The program begins starting with this Fall’s semester for the students.

"We are honored to have been selected to work with Rutgers nursing students," said Dexter Vickie, RN, CareOne's Vice President of Clinical Services.  "We believe that CareOne's reputation for high-quality inpatient and after-hospital care was a factor in Rutgers' choice.  The nursing leadership in our centers will provide tremendous educational value for the Rutgers students, and we welcome the opportunity to have the students interacting with our patients while enhancing their clinical skills."

"CareOne will be an excellent partner in our program," added Gray-Micile, PhD, GNP, CRNP, FAANP, Assistant Professor at Rutgers College of Nursing.  "The experience of the CareOne nursing leadership and the systems that they have put into place to achieve the impressive clinical outcomes they have shown over the years is the main reason we have selected their organization as a place for our nursing students to learn."

Like Rutgers University, CareOne is a New Jersey-based organization.  It provides a continuum of care to more than 20,000 patients annually.

"Post-acute care is increasingly becoming a vital part of the health care landscape," commented Tim Hodges, CareOne’s Chief Strategy Officer,  "As the population ages, patients require more care following a hospital stay.  We have created centers of excellence for patients with significant medical issues who require a higher level of clinical care than traditionally offered.  The Rutgers nursing students will benefit from the expertise CareOne has developed in managing these patients and rehabilitating them successfully."

CareOne operates 29 centers throughout New Jersey, including CareOne at Cresskill, CareOne at Morris, CareOne at Teaneck and CareOne at Hanover Township.
